These last days in Ciudad Real (Spain) we could enjoy one of the most interesting and world famous Trade Fairs about wine FENAVIN. Nearly 1200 Wineries were presenting their best wines and related products.
There I followed my personal wine discovering. There were a place called "WIne Gallery" were you could taste a vast variety of wines and take notes about them. After that you could visit the producers stands and talk to them.
I found there a wine called Portento, from a Spanish Winery in La Solana (Ciudad Real) I can't remember the name. The fact is that in that Wine Gallery I tried the wine called Portento, but at the Winery stand I tried another one called Galion (like the mediaeval boats), which was also very good. Could I found some of them at the States?

The world of wine
I have just known the world of wine. A different way of live. At the beggining you can think that it is just a beverage, but once you enter deeper in that world you realise that, actually, it's a different way of living. Specially in those Wineries where special care is taken when elaborating wine.
First, they look after the grapes as if they were a part of the family, in fact, the good develope of them will become a good deveope for the family wellness.
Then, the vine grovers collect the grapes under difficult weather conditions, mainly in heating summer days. After that they extract the juice wether to use it as mosto or keeping it safe to make wine.
Some months later and after a daily exam of the conditions, the wine is ready for its consumption. And it is then when the fantasy starts. Many specialist, evaluate that resulting wine and express their point of view about its flavour. "It reminds me to vanila" "It smells like cacao" "It reminds me to roses" ... And it is only grape's juice!!
Have some of you also discovered this way of live?
